Books, Cake, and a Hyperactive Cat

Work went well tonight. Nothing exciting happened, which is always a good thing when working 2nd shift. [info]insignia_void brought me a box full of books from [info]insigniaeclipse (Thanks for the books! I can't wait to start reading them!). She put it in the trunk of my car because it was just too heavy/cumbersome to bring inside the building. I did however manage to carry the box up two flights of stairs and into my apartment. You've got to love handles on boxes. My cat started rubbing up against the box and then started scratching it. I guess she has officially "approved" the books being in my room.

Speaking of my cat, Vita was just going nuts when I got home. She kept running up and down the hall really fast. I think she was having her "midnight crazies" as Rob from "Get Fuzzy" would say. Every time I approached her, she would just take off running. She is so cute when she runs. All I can see is the big ball of fur running back and forth. She has so much fur because she is a pure bred Silver Tabby Persian. Her fur gets everywhere. I think she finally calmed down now. She is currently chillin' on my bed.

I did finally decide to cook my healthy cake, and I even managed to remember to bring a piece for my boss, C.D. He is always complaining that I never bring him anything that I bake. So, today I walked into his office and gave the piece of cake to him. He thought the cake was really good.

The new season of Gilmore Girls started tonight. I am going to watch the new episode in the morning. I'm just too tired to watch it right now. I absolutely love "Gilmore Girls". I've watched every episode. "House" was really good tonight. I got to watch it because I was on the board. "House" just keeps getting better and better.

I need to stop by my Doctor's office tomorrow and get a blood test done, so I can get a renewal of my prescription for my thyroid medication. I really hope I remember.

Well, I guess I'll go to sleep now.

Hmmmm! Cakey-Cakey Cake!

I've been craving cake for the past two days, and not just any cake. My cake, the healthy cake I make from scratch. The only problem is that if I make this cake, I might get a piece or two and then it will be gone. My brothers and my parents love my cake. It's made with wheat flour and splenda, (no butter), has walnuts, shredded coconut, fruit (sometimes mixed berry or just strawberry)and the usual baking powder, baking soda, some salt, and etc. My dilemma: Is it worth the time that it takes to make this cake to just be able to eat one or two pieces? Hmmm. I still am in the mood to try out making a souffle. I just haven't gotten the baking dish yet. I was too tired to go to Wal-mart this past weekend.

Finally finished "Magic Study" by Maria V. Snyder. Loved it! I'm loving this trilogy as much as Trudi Canavan's "Black Magician Trilogy". I am currently reading Lynn Viehl's "If Angels Burn" (her Darkyn vampire series). The book is just okay. I don't think there is good enough character development in this book. I really don't care about any of these characters and am just going to finish this book to just finish it. This series is just ho-hum.

I can't wait for my books to come in from the Science Fiction Book club. There are one or two that I want to start reading right away. I should be getting these books soon. I think I'll catch up on my manga I bought a week ago and still haven't read (From Far Away Vol. 12, and Red River Vol. 13). These series just seem to go on forever and ever. I know that Red River has at least 26 volumes. Yeesh!
