Car Update
I decided to just go ahead and take my vehicle to a body shop that is on Nationwide's list of approved body shops. This way the body shop will deal directly with Nationwide and I don't have to do anything but take my vehicle to the shop. The body shop I'm going to was actually recommended to me by a friend and just so happened to be on the list. I went today to get an estimate on the repairs. The estimate says $3,076. The guy told me it will probably be more once they can actually get started on the car and see the internal damage. He thinks their might be some suspension damage. My tire might have been damaged as well. I have an appointment on the 7th of May to take my car in for repairs. The rental car company is going to call me sometime in the next week to schedule a drop off of the rental car at the body shop so I can pick it up. What's really great is that the work they do on my car is guaranteed for as long as I own my car. Awesome!
Ayanna's car is totaled. Her car had structural damage. Her estimate (only looking at surface damage, not internal) was $8,400. Her car is worth $12,000. They're just going to write her a check. One plus is that she only had 6 grand left on her loan. At least she'll have money for a down payment on another vehicle.
I just need to get through tonight because I'm off this weekend. I plan to do some fishing with my dad on Sunday and then go to my brother's friend's birthday party.
Later.
