Interesting day
I woke up to my brother asking me whether or not I wanted to go out to lunch with him and Adib. We ended up going to Shiki Sushi. Their food is really good. I got the Chicken Pad Thai with no vegetables. Although, when they brought out my plate, it had vegetables on it. Apparently the Chef forgot to leave the vegetables out. The waitress took it back and brought me my dish with no vegetables on it about 5 minutes later. I had also ordered the Kappa Maki roll which is a cucumber roll. The only type of seafood I like is Fish. A cucumber roll is just rice and cucumber. Yum! We went to TCBY afterwards and I got a Mocha Frappe Chillerz. It was so good!
I've been trying to practice common courtesy lately. I've been holding doors open for women with strollers and elderly women with walkers. Today, I got a chance to be neighborly. My neighbor who lives on the bottom floor of my building was directed to me by my co-worker who lives across the hall from her to see whether or not I had a laptop. Apparently, the cable guy was there trying to install the internet but he needed a computer or laptop in order to do this. She didn't have hers yet or something like that. I grabbed my brother's friend's laptop and went to her apartment. I sat and chatted with her for about a half hour and go to know her. Her name is Charlotte, she has a 2 year old son, and she's getting her graduate degree in Biomedical Technology at Duke. She's really nice. She thanked me profusely for the help. At least now, I know two of my neighbors.
I've really been on a Chick-lit reading Binge. I read "Heiress for Hire" by Erin McCarthy 6 times. I'm not kidding. I actually read it six times. I then read "With or Without You" by Carole Mathews. It was a really good book and gave great detail to how life is like in Nepal. Now, I'm reading "You Don't Know Jack" by Erin McCarthy. I'll get bored with the genre soon enough and go back to fantasy, sci-fi, or supernatural soon enough. I like to flip flop between genres. I totally forgot to bring 3 books today for Void. Being neighborly threw me off. Tee-hee!
I'm at work right now. I'm so glad I'm not in satellite. M.B. has way too many commercials and promos to do. A lot of the promos are going to have to get done over the weekend. I'm not going to be able to do much with playoff football on Saturday and 24 starting Sunday. It's not like i'd have time to dub anyway on 2nd shift. I used to dub a lot of stuff over the weekend when I worked overnight. I had lots of paids. It helped to pass the time.
Oh well, back to the grind. Later.
