MCOQueen's Ramblings

My best friend, Misty, called me yesterday from the hospital to let me know that she had her baby girl.  She's named her Sydney Marie.  Misty was in labor for 19 hours.  The little bugger apparently is just as stubborn as she is.  I'm so happy for her! 

I was airing "I Dreamed of Africa" yesterday at work.  I was trying so hard not to cry at the end.  It was a really good movie and it is based on a true story. 

I'm hoping I don't have a lot to do today.  On Holiday weekends, there almost always seems to be several problems with the log.  Sometimes I think that everyone is in such a hurry to finish and leave that they get a tad bit careless.  I don't even remember how many phone calls I made this weekend.  I also had to air this brand new crime show our station has been producing.  It's actually really good. I didn't get to watch it much the first time we aired it due to some Closed Captioning problems at the beginning and the engineers running around.  However, I did get to actually watch it the second time we aired it, which was last night. 

I'm sending off my taxes today.  I just want to get it over with and not worry about it anymore.  I also am expecting a temporary insurance card since my permanent one was not sent to me like it should be and my current card expires in two days.  I had to call my insurance company to have them send me a temporary one while they request that my permanent one be re-sent to me. 

Today is Monday which means that "Dancing with the Stars" is on tonight.  Yay!  I love that show so much!  I hope Laila and Maks do better this time.  I believe they're doing the Paso Doble tonight.  I can't wait.

This weekend was so much fun. insignia_void and I went to Spartanburg to visit insignia_magnus and wifey. We managed to get there around 9pm. The house is really nice. The back yard is big. The kitchen is going to be really big and nice once it is done. The neighborhood has so many historic homes and we actually got to visit about 6 of the homes on the Tour of Homes Saturday night. I tripped and fell down a few stairs in the 4th house. I managed to break my fall with a door. My knee slammed into it and so did my hands. I wasn't really hurt though. My knee didn't start to bug me until about ten minutes later. I was so afraid that I had damaged the door but I didn't. I kept getting teased about tripping down the stairs in House # FOUR by Magnus, Wifey, and Void.Before the Tour of Homes, we went to go see "The Grove Park Inn" in Asheville. Asheville's only an hour away from Spartanburg. It is a really nice, big inn. I had bought a Digital Camcorder on Friday and had taken it with me.

I have video footage of us at the Inn and also at the Biltmore estate which we went to on Sunday. The Biltmore home is so beautiful. It is so worth paying $44 to see inside the home. We stopped at the Biltmore winery and got some stuff. I managed to get four bottles of Grape Juice. Two sparkling, one Concord grape juice, and one Catawba grape juice bottle. I just had a glass of the sparkling grape juice and it is awesome! I have footage of us on the grounds of Biltmore. We're not allowed to use cameras or cell phones inside the house. I tried to upload some video footage using photobucket, but the quality doesn't look good at all. The video quality looks great on my camcorder and on my computer. I'll have to burn all the video I took on some dvd blanks for Void and Magnus. Meanwhile, I did take some pictures of our trip. Here is a preview of one of the pictures:

I thought my health fair appointment was today at 11:20am, but I just got an e-mail saying that it is December 5th (tomorrow) at 11:20am. I have to take my mom to her P.T. session today. After that, I'm going to have to finish organizing and cleaning up my room now that my new desk is all set up in my room.

I got up early yesterday morning to go to my doctor's for a physical. Everything's good except for my occasional bouts of vertigo. They aren't often and don't last but for a few seconds. My doctor thinks it's due either to my eyesight (haven't had my eyes checked in 3 years) or it's an inner ear problem. After going to the doctor, I then went to the chiropractor. My back bugs me every once in a while. insignia_void came over yesterday afternoon. She had a meeting at work earlier and just wanted to hang out before work at 4pm. We chatted and relaxed until 4.

Today, I got up early to go see my eye doctor. I need a new prescription (Shocking? Not!). I hope I get my new lenses before I go to Arizona. I was supposed to chat with my best friend maryjane7547 today before going to work but I had forgotten that I had promised my brother that I would go see the movie "Open Season" with him. It was good. Sorry about that MJane! My bad. I definitely won't be doing anything tomorrow and will be on-line at the usual times. My brother and I did eat at Firebird's. Their food is awesome!

Bought some books and a 2007 calendar using my Southpoint gift card. My brother made me buy him a book. Ahh, free books. Nothing better! Work is okay today. I'm not really getting a lot of stuff to dub, which is always good. Baseball playoffs start tonight. Ugh! I better get back to working. Later.
