Harry Dresden

Whew. I've been busy.

Sunday morning Dad and I went fishing.  We both managed to get a few nibbles and bites but didn't actually catch any fish.  They were jumping all over the place though.  I had to renew my fishing license.  I only ever go fishing in the fall and spring otherwise it's just too hot or too cold.  Monday, I had a ball watching Dancing with the Stars.  Two dances each!  One ballroom and one Latin dance.  I was thrilled that Laila finally got a  perfect score for her Samba.  I'm doing really well with the fantasy dancing league.  I'm currently ranked #54 out of several thousand and I didn't even play the first week.  Tuesday's American Idol was really good.  I love Bon Jovi!  Blake's version of "You Give Love A Bad Name" was awesome!  I was off Wednesday and Thursday and it completely slipped my mind to check and see who got voted off.  I ended up asking M.B. on Friday evening who got voted off.  Friday morning I finally got a call from the rental car company asking me what time I needed to be picked up from the body shop on Monday.  I'm dropping my car off around 8am and the rental car people will be there around 8:15am.  The guy asked me how long I would need the vehicle.  I told him that I keep forgetting to ask how long it's going to take to fix my car.  He said that the body shop had stated 10 days.  Wow, I get a rental for 10 days at least.  Cool, huh?  I'm sure I'll remember to ask them tomorrow when I drop the car off to confirm that.

When my computer crashed a while back, I lost my writing program for novels.  I did not back it up.  However, I wasn't really using it because I didn't even really know how to begin writing.  I was searching the internet yesterday and found this really awesome novel writing software called, "New Novelist".  It actually takes you step by step through the process of writing a novel.  It gives you 3 main categories of writing.  You pick one and then it gives you 12 subcategories to that category and it is just very specific in helping to give a really great outline for writing a novel.  It also gives you detailed steps on what is expected in this type of novel and what details or focus should be added in each step.  It lets you come up with characters and stores them for you and it asks many questions to help you focus and come up with details for your characters.  It even lets you link to websites under the research button.  I've already got several links to Fantasy Name Generators.  I found one website which is being a tremendous help right now.  It's called Serendipity.  Here's the link:  http://nine.frenchboys.net/
It is really helpful!  I actually feel as if I really will write and finish my novel now that I have an outline of what to do.  It's just like having an outline for a research paper.  I am so used to doing that!  I actually woke up this morning wanting to work on my novel.  I'm really excited!

Later.
